Dubai to add three Etihad Rail stations after Al Yalayis opens September 30
Two stations will serve the high-speed Abu Dhabi-Dubai line, one more will connect to the conventional network.

Dubai will operate four stations on the Etihad Rail network, the Roads and Transport Authority announced September 15, 2026. Two stations will serve the conventional rail network and two will serve the high-speed line between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Al Yalayis Station, the first passenger station in the emirate, opens September 30.
Two stations for conventional rail network#
Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at the Roads and Transport Authority, stated at a press conference that the national Etihad Rail project includes two connection points within Dubai for the conventional network. Al Yalayis Station is the first of these. The second conventional station was not named in the announcement. The press conference was held to announce the inaugural RailX Dubai Conference and Exhibition.
High-speed line to serve Al Maktoum International Airport and Al Jaddaf#
The high-speed rail link between Dubai and Abu Dhabi will bring two additional stations to Dubai, Al Tayer stated. One station will be located at Al Maktoum International Airport and another in Al Jaddaf. The RTA's 2032 Dubai Rail Network Map shows the high-speed rail route on Al Khail Road, running alongside the Red Line. Etihad Rail has stated the service will operate on a separate fully electrified network and is targeting a travel time of approximately 30 minutes between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Integration with Dubai Metro network#
The four Etihad Rail stations will connect with the Red, Green and Blue Metro lines, Al Tayer stated. Future lines under discussion, including the proposed Gold Line, will also connect. Most of these lines are expected to interconnect through the new stations. The master plan sets out the integration, aiming for a connected transport system that links cities across the UAE with Dubai. The RTA is working with Etihad Rail as part of a wider transport strategy.
Al Yalayis Station opening date confirmed#
Al Yalayis Station, Etihad Rail's main passenger station in Dubai, is set to open September 30, 2026. The station will serve as the first operational passenger facility in the emirate on the national rail network. Etihad Rail is introducing services through scheduled phases rather than opening every station simultaneously.
