Gulf exhibition capacity is outrunning exhibitor headcount

Event BDR, a Dubai platform selling floor representation, rests its case on the gap between new exhibition space and the teams available to work it.

Gulf exhibition capacity has grown faster over the past year than the exhibiting teams sent to work it, on the account of Event BDR, a Dubai marketplace platform that supplied this material on 4 September 2026. The company sells representation on show floors and states that it is the interested party making the argument.

The supply side is measured#

Dubai World Trade Centre recorded AED 25.03 billion, about USD 6.82 billion, of economic output from its 2025 events, up 12 percent on the year, with AED 14.66 billion of gross value added and more than 94,000 jobs supported. Its 108 large-scale events drew 2.18 million attendees, 947,000 of them from outside the country.

Those are venue and organiser numbers. They describe how much floor exists and how many people cross it.

The demand side is not#

What an individual exhibiting company reaches on that floor is not published by anyone. Event BDR's arithmetic, which is its own and not independently sourced, runs as follows: four people working a stand for three days, at ten hours a day and thirty minutes per substantive conversation, hold roughly 240 conversations. At an event drawing 100,000 visitors that is under one percent of the people in the building, and it does not change with stand size.

The company's position is that the constraint has moved to headcount while spending has stayed attached to floor space.

What the company sells against it#

A client sets a brief naming target industries, seniority and buying intent, selects representatives from profiles showing experience, languages and sector background, and those representatives are tested on the client's business before working the event. They move through the halls rather than staffing a stand. Contacts reach the client dashboard as they are captured, with export and invoicing attached. Clients fund a balance in advance and are charged per qualified contact or meeting delivered, with no retainer and no day rate.

The platform lists 26 events it covers across the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom and Germany, with 595 more across 33 countries in preparation. It publishes no client outcome data.
